Restorative Justice
This program emphasizes the harm done to a victim and the community and works to involve all affected by the crime in the resolution process. The goal of the Heartland Family Service Restorative Justice program is to repair the relationship, fix the damage that has been done, and prevent further crimes from occurring.
The victim impact course is based on the principles of Restorative Justice that helps offenders acknowledge the harm their crime had on the victim and to the community. Classes are for youth and adult offenders referred from Douglas County Probation and Diversion and adults in Douglas County Corrections.
Eligibility: Must be referred from Douglas County Probation and Diversion for youths and Douglas County Corrections for adults. Services provided in Douglas County, Nebraska.
