Heartland Family Service
Peer Support Center
– Nebraska
Heartland Family Service Peer Support is a peer drop-in center, run by peer support staff, for anyone with a mental health diagnosis. These services are designed to be not only a safe place for people to go to combat boredom, but a safe place to go to find and build supports and friendships with others who may be living in a similar situation and experiencing similar barriers.
Peer Center staff are people with lived experience and a mental health diagnosis who have reached a level of recovery and can provide engagement, encouragement, education, and input into helping others manage their lives. Peer Support employees run the day-to-day functions at the Peer Center, offering individual and group sessions/opportunities.
