As the world continues to deal with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, a large and immediate issue looms as 2020 draws to a close. The moratorium on evictions will expire at the end of this year, and many individuals and families across the U.S., including here in the Omaha and Council Bluffs areas, will still be unable to pay rent or utilities. This will ultimately lead to countless people being evicted and becoming homeless and without additional assistance.

MOTAC Hosts Tobacco-Free Business Initiative Workshops

On November 14, 2020, a law signed in August by Governor Pete Ricketts, LB840, will take effect.  E-cigarettes will now be added as a tobacco product covered under the state’s smoke-free workplace law.  For more information about the changes to the Nebraska Clean Indoor Act statutory language and answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the law, please visit www.smokefree.ne.gov.

It took us 24 months to achieve accreditation. Organizations pursue accreditation to demonstrate the implementation of best practice standards in the field of human services.
