Matt Smith with Pinnacle Bank served as this year’s Honorary Chair. In addition to receiving lunch and drink tickets, golfers also had the chance to get a “Hole in One” and win a three-year lease on a 2020 Chevrolet Blazer from Beardmore Chevrolet-Subaru. There were also several amazing raffle prizes up for grabs, including a foursome to Eagle Hills Golf Course and a 50-inch flatscreen TV. Golfers also had the chance to bid on a football signed by 20 Heisman Trophy winners, which sold for $2,500.
The CORE Bank team finished first place in the tournament, winning a foursome to either the Eagle Hills or Tara Hills golf courses. The American National Bank #2 team took second place and was also awarded a foursome to either the Eagle Hills or Tara Hills golf courses. Heartland Family Service would like to thank everyone who participated in such an unusual year, as all golfers, HFS employees, and volunteers observed COVID-19 guidelines to keep each other safe.
All funds support the Heartland Family Service (HFS) Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault program, including the Safe Haven concealed emergency shelter to protect women, men, and children escaping violence. The demand for these services has never been greater. In 2019, Heartland Family Service provided care to nearly 1,500 women, men, and children in the Omaha metro area. The Heartland Family Service Safe Haven Golf Tournament is instrumental in ensuring these life-saving services continue.
