Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential employee benefit offered to help employees and their immediate family members deal with personal problems that might have adverse impacts. This service can include short-term counseling to address the immediate needs of the individual and work to develop a long-term strategy to maintain the individual’s well-being.

While EAP has been utilized for work-related stressors, it can also be helpful for any life challenges that are impacting happiness as a whole. Studies have shown that EAPs help with decreased absenteeism, decreased costs associated with healthcare, overall well-being, and employee retention.

Eligibility: Services are provided through direct contract with local companies and affiliate contracts through large EAP providers that do not have counseling services. Areas served include Harrison, Mills, and Pottawattamie counties in Iowa, and Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington counties in Nebraska.
