The Heartland Family Service In-Home Services program is a community-focused, family service designed to reduce or eliminate neglect, abuse, or exploitation of children unable to protect themselves. The ultimate goal is to keep children out of the foster care system by educating and enabling parents to be self-sufficient in raising their children. This is accomplished through four levels of service:
• Family Support: Focuses on preserving the family unit or reunifying families by assisting caregivers with identifying their strengths and weaknesses to set goals
• Intensive In-Home: Home-based service where a professional works with families to help meet each child and family’s unique needs through education and skill-building
• Parenting Time: Provides supervised visits to families with a goal of family reunification
• Pathways to Permanency: Offers services that include caregiver consultation, specialized support services, and workshops/trainings. Strives to strengthen the home and support families in providing children with a nurturing and stable home environment
Eligibility: Referral-based. Services provided primarily in Dodge, Douglas, and Sarpy counties in Nebraska.
