The Heartland Family Service Baby TALK (Teaching Activities for Learning and Knowledge) program is a free, voluntary service for pregnant women or parents with children ages birth to five. The mission of Baby TALK is to positively impact early childhood development to provide long-term, barrier-free success. This is done through promoting healthy, nurturing parent-child relationships and early childhood education best practice, with a literacy-based emphasis.
Baby TALK Early Childhood Specialists reinforce the idea that parents are the experts on their child(ren). The Specialists share research-based information that supports the importance of attachment theories and the impact that secure parent-child relationships have on a child’s brain development, as well as social, physical, and developmental growth.
Eligibility: Parents ages 22 and older, residing in Douglas county, Nebraska.
