YOU ARE NOT ALONE . . .
When facing another day becomes unthinkable, when
life’s difficulties seem impossible to overcome, when relationships
with loved ones become fragile, when addictions take control of
your life . . . Heartland Family Service can help.
How do I know if I need professional counseling?
When you have tried everything and nothing works.
When communication with loved ones breaks down or stops altogether.
When you feel stressed and unhappy most of the time. Certain problems—alcohol
or drug abuse, family violence, severe depression— are usually
not resolved without the intervention of a therapist.
What can professional counseling do for me?
- Provide objective, compassionate guidance
- Explore choices
- Help you identify problems and decide on solutions
- Restore balance to your life
What approach does Heartland Family Service
take?
We respect the uniqueness and autonomy of each individual
and family. You are an active partner in your treatment. We work
cooperatively on identifying problems, devising solutions, setting
goals, and measuring progress toward completion.
How much will counseling cost?
Cost depends on the type and number of sessions you
need. Insurance often covers part of the cost – our services
are covered by many insurance companies, including Blue Cross/Blue
Shield, Midlands Choice, United Health Care, Medicaid and more.
We will, when possible, prepare and submit the necessary forms for
you. As a member agency of United Way of the Midlands, Heartland
Family Service also offers a sliding fee scale based on family size
and annual income.
Where are your counseling locations?
Professional counseling is offered from agency locations
in Central, South, North and West Omaha; Bellevue; Papillion; Council
Bluffs and Logan, Iowa.
What about my privacy?
We have policies and procedures to respect your privacy.
All of our staff, including receptionists and bookkeepers, strictly
uphold confidentiality procedures as an example of our professional
integrity.
