Care Connection
The Care Connection provides information, consultation, and referrals for family care needs. Our database contains over 5,000 licensed or approved caregiver referral sources for Nebraska and Iowa. Through your contract, all of your employees will be eligible for this excellent service free of charge, with unlimited access. (For individuals whose company does not have a contract with Care Connection, services are available for a fee.)
Child Care Resource & Referral - Care Connection provides a wide range of family resources to help parents with quality care. We provide referrals, information and resources to fit a family’s specific care needs. Our staff offers employees a list of child care openings according to location, type of care, age of children and other individual family requests.
Elder Care Resource & Referral - Care Connection offers an array of services to help families with issues and concerns they have in locating assisted living, nursing homes, home health care, and other elder care assistance. Our elder care specialists assist families in determining the most appropriate care arrangements, and provide nationwide referrals to serve family members living outside the local area.
Nanny Placement - Having a nanny in the home provides many benefits, and is a priority for many families. Care Connection will work with you to find a nanny that is a good fit for your family.
Employee Assistance Programs
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help you and your company address a variety of problems that contribute to poor long-term productivity of employees.
Assessment and Referral - Supervisors often face employees who are depressed, angry or under stress—sometimes because of factors in their personal lives. Whatever the cause, productivity suffers. Masters-level therapists meet with your employees and/or their family members to determine the scope of the problem and make appropriate referrals to reduce:
- Frequent Absenteeism/ Tardiness
- Decline of Production
- Fatigue and/or Sleeping on the Job

- Violence on the Job

Critical Incident Stress Management - Unfortunately, trauma at the workplace does occur — the sudden death of a co-worker, workplace violence, industrial accidents. It is important to insure that your employees and/or family members recover in a timely and healthy manner. Heartland Family Service responds immediately to provide management consultation and intervention services to co-workers and family members. Follow-up with individuals identified as potentially at risk for further problems is provided, and individual therapy is always available.
Management Consultations - Unique challenges demand individual solutions. Heartland Family Service’s corporate consulting staff works with you to address a response to the specific concerns of your company including conflict resolution, child care and other work/family issues, or other concerns related to behavioral health. Our professional consultants research, make recommendations and custom-design services for your company and your employees.
Worksite Education
A variety of educational seminars are available to explore personal and professional growth. Topics are individualized to your organization's needs, and are presented at your location, at our training centers or at a retreat location of your choice. Formats are flexible, ranging from one-hour Lunch ‘n Learn seminars to day-long workshops.
