The Second Annual Starlight Golf Event to Benefit Southwest
Iowa Families
The weather on the night of August 14 was just about perfect for “Blues, Barbeque and Bogeys,” — a unique fundraiser at Westwood Golf Course in Council Bluffs — that helps support our Iowa programs. New this year was Cayman Golf, played in the early evening with a special “nubby” ball to give the game a little more challenge. The Copper Band played the blues while golfers enjoyed the beautiful evening, the glow-in-the-dark golf, and fireworks over the river that just happened to coincide with our event. The barbeque was cooked on the site with plenty of variety for everyone.
Once again, Kerry Heinrich chaired the event, which included a silent auction and raffle. Members of our Southwest Iowa Advisory Committee assisted, including Pat Andersen, Marcia Antworth, Scott Belt, Alice Edwards, Gina Ott, Paulette Tyrakoski, Shelley Wickersham and Verne Welch. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful event to support our services for Southwest Iowans!
