The 12th Annual Heartland Family Service
“Safe Haven Golf Event” Supports Domestic Abuse Program
The 12th annual Heartland Family Service Safe Haven Golf Event, held July 11, raised $58,000 to support victims of domestic abuse. The event was hosted by the Heartland Family Service Friends Guild and was sponsored by Arby's Panda, Inc.; Hoich Enterprises, Inc.; Superior Honda of Omaha and Acura of Omaha.
Thirty-seven foursomes participated in the Texas scramble at beautiful Champions Run. The course challenged the best golfers, as well as those who participated just for fun. Afterward, participants enjoyed a steak dinner. The evening closed with an awards ceremony.
The event was held to raise funds for Heartland Family Service Safe Haven shelter for victims of domestic abuse. In addition to the concealed shelter, services include a 24-hour crisis line, emergency intervention, assistance with medical attention and protection orders, counseling and support groups for women and children.
